PrintFleet Announces New Product, PrintFleet Local Beacon

Ontario, Canada – PrintFleet Inc., an industry leading print management and assessment software vendor, recently announced a new addition to their product line.
PrintFleet Local Beacon, an add-in tool for all PrintFleet brand and industry wide print management software products, provides dealers and end users the ability to capture page counts from devices connected via parallel or USB ports to client PCs. "The biggest obstacle in remote monitoring technology is the number of locally connected/non networked printing devices at a customer site. If every device were networked, life for the supplier and IT staff would be much easier," stated Norman McConkey, President of PrintFleet. "Our Local Beacon product helps to make life easier, by gathering the much needed data from these devices and integrating it into our monitoring and assessment products."
PrintFleet Local Beacon will be made freely available for download off of PrintFleet's website. "Although it can never replace the value of a directly connected network printing device, Local Beacon can provide important information such as page counts, device model ID, serial number and location," said McConkey. "We felt that Local Beacon was an essential tool for understanding the complete printing environment. As a result, any dealer, distributor, end user or even competitor who administers a form of print management software can benefit from it."
PrintFleet Local Beacon will track and monitor usage from any printing device and is able to integrate into virtually any SNMP communication based print management software program. During a network scan, PrintFleet software, or other print management software programs, will capture the information gathered with Local Beacon.
